What is Reiki?
Reiki, pronounced "ray key", is a Japanese word meaning universal life energy. Reiki is an ancient healing technique that was rediscovered in the mid-1800's by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese monk educator. A Reiki treatment balances the energy in the body, which in turn promotes relaxation, reduces pain, promotes a sense of well being, and encourages healing.
